Fit guide

Mens Wetsuit sizing

Between sizes?

The SV2 is a performance-fit wetsuit. If you sit in the middle or on the upper end of our size guide, we recommend sizing up. Neoprene coupled with our liners approximately offers 7–10% stretch depending on the section of the wetsuit, so a firm fit on land is right for the water.

First time in a wetsuit?

Snug is right. Give yourself 10 minutes the first time you put it on, and a few swims for it to mould to your body.

Care, returns and warranty

Putting it on
  • Take your time. A wetsuit can take up to 10 minutes to put on properly.
  • Suit up dry, both you and the suit.
  • Remove your sports watch.
  • Use the cotton gloves supplied. No nails on the neoprene.
  • Pull from inside the suit where possible, in large folds. Small pinches damage the neoprene.
  • Get the suit fully over your hips before pulling it over the shoulders. No bunching at the legs.
  • Pull the cuffs up your forearm slightly. More neoprene at the shoulders means more flex through the stroke.
  • On longer legs, the suit may finish halfway up the calf. That's by design, and it speeds up your transition.
  • Anti-chafe lube on your neck. Non-petroleum based only. Petroleum will damage the neoprene over time.
Removing the wetsuit
  • Fully unzip before pulling off each shoulder.
  • Remove your sports watch.
  • Pull from inside the suit. Never pinch with fingernails.
  • Sit on a changing mat or towel so the neoprene isn't on a rough surface as you pull it off your ankles.
Care, cleaning & storage
  • Rinse in fresh water after every swim. The shower works fine.
  • pH-neutral soap or antibacterial wipes on the neck if you've used anti-chafe lubricant.
  • Cover the Velcro with the protective patch supplied, or fasten the Velcro to itself, so it doesn't catch the lining.
  • Dry inside-out, out of direct sun.
  • Store dry. Fold the way we show in the video, or hang on a wide suit hanger. Never wire hangers, they warp the shoulders.
  • Use non-petroleum based anti-chafe lubricant only. Petroleum degrades the neoprene and voids the warranty.
  • Avoid chlorinated pools. Chlorine degrades the neoprene and may void the warranty.

Common questions

FAQ

Will this wetsuit fit me correctly?

If your measurements fall within a size range in the chart, you'll get a snug, performance fit. If you sit in the middle of a size or towards the upper bracket, go up. Neoprene coupled with our liners approximately offers 7–10% stretch depending on the section of the wetsuit, so a firm feel on land is exactly right. Use the size guide or sizing tool above to find your size. If you're still unsure, use our sizing recommendation tool or contact us via the contact page and we will help you find the correct size for you and your goals.

What temperature range is the SV2 wetsuit recommended for?

The SV2 is recommended for water temperatures between 12Β°C and 22Β°C, though all athletes feel temperature differently. For colder water, add a thermal cap, gloves, or booties. For warmer water, look at our SL2 sleeveless for less heat retention.

Is the SV2 legal for racing?

Yes. The SV2 meets World Triathlon and Ironman wetsuit-legal standards (5mm maximum panel thickness, full coverage). Always check your individual race rules, some non-wetsuit events may not allow them regardless.

What are all the panel thicknesses of the wetsuit?

Neckline: 1.5mm flex neoprene β€” seamless

Arms and shoulders: 1.5mm flex neoprene

Chest panel: 3.0mm flex neoprene

Core and upper leg: 5.0mm flex neoprene

Back panel: 3.0mm flex neoprene

Lower back and upper leg: 4.0mm flex neoprene

Lower leg: 3.0mm flex neoprene

Calf panel: 2.0mm flex neoprene

What type of neoprene do you use?

We use Japanese closed-cell neoprene throughout the SV2, in thicknesses from 1.5mm to 5mm depending on the panel. Inside, FlexLiner (an engineered 4-way stretch, high-percentage elastane liner) delivers stretch through the shoulders, and Glide Liner β€” a low-friction composite liner engineered for fast transitions β€” keeps the body smooth through every stroke. Outside, the SV2's smooth-skin neoprene is finished with our AquaGlide coating, a low-friction, hydrophobic coating that improves water flow and reduces drag.

What if it doesn't fit when I receive it?

Try the suit on and refer to our fitting videos for detailed instructions on how to put the wetsuit on correctly and how it should feel. The wetsuit should feel snug but not restrictive through the chest. Allow up to 10 minutes to put it on. If the fit isn't right, return it within 30 days for an exchange or refund. Return shipping isn't covered. You'll need it unworn and tagged. Once it touches salt water, we can only accept it for warranty defects.

How is the SV2 different from the G2 or SL2?

The SV2 uses Flex neoprene in the shoulders, which is slightly less flexible than the G2's Ultra Flex neoprene but more durable. Through the core and upper legs, the SV2 uses 5mm neoprene without the LiftCell layer the G2 uses for added buoyancy. The SV2's inner lining is a standard 4-way stretch nylon-elastane composite, while the G2 uses a higher-elastane version for a smoother feel and quicker T1 release. The SL2 is the sleeveless version of the SV2, designed for warmer water.

How long will the wetsuit last?

How long the wetsuit lasts depends on how often you swim in it and how well you look after it, similar to a pair of runners. If you rinse after every swim, dry inside-out out of direct sun, store on a wide hanger or folded as shown in our video, and avoid petroleum-based lubricants and chlorinated pools, the wetsuit will last longer with regular use. The SV2 is a race performance suit. If you're after a wetsuit built specifically for daily training and longer life, consider our RT.
