If you fall in the upper end of a size range or sit between two sizes, we recommend going with the larger size. This will give you a more comfortable fit for both training and racing. If you are in the lower end of a range, that size will give you a secure fit designed to support both performance and comfort.

Our wetsuits are made with Premium Japanese Neoprene that offers 7–10% stretch, so a firm feel on land is exactly what you want — it will ease up once you’re in the water.

The RT is built for the swimmer who's stepping into open water for the first time, or training every week and needs a suit that can take it. Getting the right size

If your measurements align with multiple sizes, or you’re on the upper boundary of a given size, we advise selecting the larger size or ‘sizing up’.
Our wetsuits are designed to offer a tight fit for optimal performance and to reduce water ingress. The material will stretch slightly and provide greater comfort once submerged in water and worn a few times.
To ensure the best fit, having someone assist you in zipping up the wetsuit can be beneficial. If the neoprene needs to be pulled together at the back before zipping up, it indicates an appropriately snug fit.
A brand-new wetsuit will be marginally tighter the very first time it is tried on. Neoprene will stretch a small percentage after it is first tensioned.
A well-fitted wetsuit may take up to 10 minutes to put on correctly.

Suiting Up

We recommend suiting up dry, both you and the wetsuit
Avoid having long or sharp fingernails
To prevent damage to the neoprene, it is recommended to use the cotton gloves provided or only the pads of your fingers
Pull the wetsuit up your legs and core from the inside, where the inner lining material is less susceptible to damage from fingernails
Avoid pinching the wetsuit with fingernails or pulling on the wetsuit in small sections. Instead, use large folds to adjust it for a proper fit.
Ensure that the wetsuit is fully pulled up over the hips, leaving no excess neoprene around the legs, before continuing to pull up over the chest, shoulders and arms.
Pulling the wetsuit higher up the forearm can increase flexibility through the shoulders (this comes down to body shape and personal preference).
Even a well-fitted wetsuit can cause chafing, particularly around the neck. We recommend using non-petroleum-based lubricants to protect sensitive skin and the wetsuit's neoprene.

Removing the wetsuit

Ensure the wetsuit is fully unzipped before pulling the suit from each shoulder.
Pull the wetsuit down from the inside, where the inner lining material is less susceptible to damage from fingernails.
Avoid pinching the wetsuit with fingernails or pulling on the wetsuit in small sections. Instead, use large folds to remove it properly.

Care and Storage

Rinse the wetsuit in fresh water after each use to remove any debris or contaminants (in the shower after a swim also works).
To clean any lubricants from the neck area, utilise a pH-neutral soap or antibacterial wipes.
To safeguard both the neoprene and the inner lining, make sure to fasten the rough side of the velcro to the soft side after use. Alternatively, attach the provided piece of neoprene to the rough side of the Velcro after each use.
For drying, turn the wetsuit inside-out and hang away from direct sunlight.
To reduce creasing, always store your wetsuit completely dry. Either fold it carefully following the method shown in our instructional video or hang it on a wide, suit-style hanger. Avoid using thin wire or wooden hangers, as these can stretch the shoulders over time.
DO NOT USE petroleum-based lubricants as this will damage the wetsuit. If it is used, ensure that it is removed immediately with a pH-neutral soap to avoid damage to the wetsuit.

Returns and Exchanges

We have a 30-day return policy upon receipt of the order, which is subject to the following terms and conditions:

Item(s) must be unworn and still bearing the original label and in its original purchase condition.
Item(s) marked as “final sale” are only eligible for store credit or exchanges unless item(s) received are faulty.
Shipping cost associated with the return of the item(s) will not be covered by Great Ocean Wetsuits
Exchanges are subjected to product availability at the time of receipt of returned order.

Returns requested outside of this period may be accepted at the sole discretion of Great Ocean Wetsuits and, if accepted, you will be issued with store credit for the value of the returned items, valid for 12 months from the date the return is received.

Great Ocean Wetsuits reserves the right to not accept returns that are damaged or altered and these will be sent back to the customer.
